NewsNew Jersey Company Sues Guns N' RosesNew Jersey company claims Guns N' Roses owes it $107,000, plus interest, for handling gear and other services during the band's 2006 tour. Repeated requests have failed to bring payment, according to a lawsuit filed in state Superior Court for Essex County by Speed of Sound, of Irvington. The lawsuit was filed April 11 against GNR, three companies affiliated with the band that handled tour arrangements, and members of the rock group, including singer Axl Rose. Messages left for the band's manager and the companies were not immediately returned. GNR recently scrapped a series of international dates after bassist Tommy Stinson injured his hand. There has also been no information on the group's album, "Chinese Democracy," which was supposed to be released March 6 but then vanished from Interscope's schedule. Explosions In The Sky cancel summer tour Explosions In The Sky have canceled all of their spring and summer tour dates. The Austin, Texas instrumentalists were set to embark on a UK and European tour beginning May 20 at All Tomorrow's Parties in Somerset and continuing throughout the spring and summer, with dates in London, Stockholm, Barcelona, and several other cities through July 29. The band posted a message on their website, explaining that the cancellation was due to a "serious family illness." The band wrote: "We have had to cancel all of our remaining summer shows (all shows scheduled for May, July, and August). We're facing a serious illness in one of our families and traveling around the world and playing shows is just not an option for us at the moment." They continued: "We are truly sorry about this. We'll try and keep in touch about when any of these shows might be made up or when we might be touring again." Explosions In The Sky intend to reschedule their tour dates for some time this fall. |
